About SENDsuccess

SENDsuccess is the Outreach Service for mainstream schools in Waltham Forest

Our aims are as follows:

  • to increase knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools
  • to upskill and empower staff to meet the needs of their pupils with SEND
  • to contribute to improving the outcomes for children and young people with SEND and supporting their families

There are two strands to the SENDsuccess Team:

  • Our Sensory Service, to support children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and children with a Vision Impairment. This team works with children and families from 0-19 (25 with an EHCP) and staff in mainstream schools and colleges within Waltham Forest.
  • Our Learning Difficulties and Autism Team, to support Autistic pupils and those with Learning Difficulties. This team works with children and families from Year 1 to Y13 and staff in mainstream schools within Waltham Forest.

Our team of specialist and experienced teachers includes Qualified Teachers of the Vision Impaired (QTVIs), Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QTVIs) and SEND advisory teachers. We also have an audiology technician, an advisory support worker for the Deaf, an ICT specialist and mobility officer.
