#WorldDownSyndromeDay #WDSD19 #LotsOfSocks

21st March 2019

World Down’s Syndrome Day is a global awareness day, where the achievements of people with Down’s syndrome are celebrated across the world, telling their stories and amplifying their voices.

This year there is a particular focus on challenging society’s misconceptions about Down’s Syndrome and to call for it to be more inclusive.

In order to raise awareness amongst children and young people, The Down’s Syndrome Association have produced some great resources for schools called ‘What is Down’s Syndrome?’ that can be found here. There is a presentation, guidance notes and a supporting document.

As part of the #LotsOfSocks campaign lots of people wear odd socks with pride on World Down Syndrome Day (21st March 2019). You can buy them here from Down’s Syndrome International. Make sure you take pictures and videos of you wearing them and post them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #LotsOfSocks, #WorldDownSyndromeDay and #WDSD19.
